In Appearance > Menu you should see that a menu named “Header Menu” has been created (during initial theme activation) and selected for the “Header” location under Theme Locations. If it is not setup like this, simply add a new menu then assign it to the “Header” location.
To add items to the menu, select them from the boxes on the left (make sure they’re all showing by clicking Screen Options at the top-right) then click Add to Menu. Once they are added to the menu, you can drag-and-drop to change their order, modify labels, etc. Don’t forget to click Save Menu when you’re done.
Configuring the footer menu works in the same ways as the header menu as described above. If you do not want to show a footer menu, simply remove all items from it or delete the menu altogether.
You can create a menu and show it in any of the sidebars. Read the Widgets guide for a list of sidebar locations and for instructions on how to add widgets to them. Here are instructions for creating a sidebar menu.
- Go to Appearance > Menus then add a new menu, add items to it and save.
- Go to Appearance > Widgets and drag the Custom Menu widget into a sidebar.
- Configure the widget in that sidebar to show the menu you created.
A breadcrumb path shows at the top of pages by default. To disable it, go to Appearance > Theme Options > Other and clear the Breadcrumb Path box.
