Opening a PayPal Account

Before you get started, you must have a PayPal account. For steps on how to open an account, click here.

Once you have your account set up you can add PayPal donation buttons to your text on a page and/or link the PayPal donation button located in the right column of your website. We’ll show you how to do both–see below.

If you need assistance with PayPal please reach out by email.

Please DO NOT send PayPal username or password information to us by email.

Creating Inline Donation Buttons on a Page

On your website’s Giving page you will see a PayPal donation button already embedded in the text. We can use this button as an example.

  1. The first step is to get the required code from PayPal. You will be creating what’s called a Hosted PayPal Button. The steps to do this can be found here. Be sure to select Use your own button image and to select the code provided in the Email tab.
  2. Copy the provided code from the Email tab. You can now add it to the Giving page.
  3. In your website’s admin, edit the Giving page.
  4. Click the PayPal button image.
  5. Click the Edit Image icon. The Edit Image dialogue box opens.
  6. In the Link URL section, paste the code copied in Step 2.
  7. Click Update.
  8. Click Update again to save the page.
