A 29-year-old Sarnia is facing a new drunk driving charge, three months after being charged with the same offence, says Sarnia Police.

Police allege an officer saw the driver speeding through a parking lot on London Road Wednesday evening and activated the cruiser’s emergency lights, but the suspect failed to stop.

After following the suspect to a driveway on Tweedsmuir Avenue, the officer arrested the man for impaired driving.

Police said the man had been charged three months ago with impaired driving and was released on the conditions he not drink, or drive.

Police allege a breath sample taken following Wednesday’s arrest showed the level of alcohol in the man’s blood was three times the legal limit.

The man has been charged with impaired driving, driving while disqualified and two counts of violating conditions of his earlier release. He was held for a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday.
