MADD Parkland

MADD Parkland Chapter was launched on June 25, 2006, with tremendous support from the county, town, city and their elected officials and residents. The Parkland Chapter was formed the very evening of our Town Hall meeting and MADD National approved our status as a chapter within weeks.

Our first President, Raymond Boudreau, held the position for two years. He gave the Chapter a foundation on which to grow by bringing education and awareness to our communities of not only the dangers of drinking and driving, but the costs, emotional and physical, to the victim/survivor, family and friends.

MADD Parkland Chapter continues to provide these programs, and support the National multi-media presentations in our schools. We work with local RCMP Traffic Services in promoting Checkstops, and monitor court proceedings where criminal charges of driving intoxicated have been laid. MADD Parkland advocates tougher impaired driving policies to Provincial and Federal governments. MADD Parkland Chapter assists Stony Plain RCMP Victim Services – supporting victims of the violent crime of impaired driving.

MADD Canada

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada) is a charitable, grassroots organization that is committed to stopping impaired driving and supporting the victims of this violent crime.

Each and every year, thousands of Canadians are killed or injured in impaired driving crashes. Driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs is a terrible crime that touches all our lives. It is an irresponsible, dangerous and intolerable act. MADD Canada strives to offers support services to victims/survivors, heighten awareness about the dangers of alcohol and/or drug-impaired driving, and to save lives and prevent injuries on our roads.

At the heart of MADD Canada are our volunteers; they include not only mothers, but fathers, friends, business professionals, experts in the anti-impaired driving field and concerned citizens who want to make a difference in the fight against impaired driving.
